JAMMU: On the ocassion of Raksha Bandhan, the little Dhruv Sharma (6) of Sarwal succumbs to death after helplessly battling for life in GMCH, Jammu. Consciously, the cops should not considered this loss of precious life as accident but a fit case of dereliction of duty.
The deadly Chinese Manja slashed tender throat of Dhruv because the Police and Civil Administration fails to curb the open sale of nylon thread which was banned by the District Magistrate, Jammu, Anshul Garg in official files.
Dozens of person reportedly admitted in GMCH with serious injuries on their neck after they get entangled with nylon thread. The situation seems to be more alarming taking into account the overall figure of toll/injured in Jammu region on account of mayhem let loose by the Chinese thread.
Showcasing a couple of recoveries and arrests, the jaban sipahi lower their guard against the lethal thread which was visibly hanging from every third roof in the city of temples on the ocassion of “Raksha Bandhan”. What kind of Raksha Bandhan is this which took life of several persons and left many injured with permanent disabilities?
It’s a matter of shame for everyone who is supposed to enforce the DM order and crackdown on sale of banned Chinese Manja which is more lethal than a sword and was conveniently on sale in almost every nook and corner of Jammu City. But, it remains invisible to SHOs who think themselves next to God out of sheer foolishness and now a days remained confine themselves to comfort rooms than on roads.
The death of minor Dhruv raised serious question mark on the efficiency level of SHOs who miserably failed to check sale, stocking and possesion of Chinese thread right from entry gate at Lakhanpur to every nook and corner of Jammu division. The SHOs need to hang their head in shame on Dhruv’s death due to Chinese Manja as its failure of their humane intelligence network which superiors in police department need to ponder seriously.
The traders community especially Jammu Chamber of Commerce, Civil society members and the elected representatives of local bodies -the Mayor, JMC Councillors and sarpanchs equally also need to ashamed of themselves over the failure of their collective responsibility to sensitised citizens and spread awareness about the lethal effects of deadly Gattu and educate the citizens about the lethal consequences of use of Chinese threads on human beings, animals, birds and electricity infrastructure.
The mediamen most of which now become Dharbari of officers and Netas also equally responsible for Dhruv deaths as instead of roasting and grilling the authorities especially Police over sale of banned Chinese thread with impunity, they were busy licking their boots.
Rest in Peace little Dhruv Sharma.
