JAMMU: Acting tough, the Jammu Municipal Corporation has pulled down illegal constructed structure within the compound of V Mart at Kacchi Chawni.
Equipped with men and machinery along with assistance of police, the operation to demolished illegal structure was launched yesterday night.
Earlier, on Saturday the JMC team also made an attempt to demolished this unauthorized structure but the owner with assistance of strong group of locals created ruckus following which the JMC team had to retreat from the site.
Next day, in well planned manner the operation was launched in the night which was personally supervised by the Joint Commissioner Ashish Gupta under the direction of Commissioner Avny Lavasa.
Lavasa has made fervent appeal to the citizens to resist from unauthorized commercial as well as residential constructions and raised buildings only after obtaining proper permission.
She further stressed that JMC have transparent process of granting permission for constructions and there is no need to fell into traps of corrupt elements and middlemen.
