Jammu: Right in the heart of city, a quack posing himself as ‘medico’ running a clinic namely ‘Public Health Medicos’ where sub standard medicines are sold to poor patients ironically after clinical examination.
Encouraged with lackadaisical approach of concerned officials which are entrusted with the job of keeping check on such fake doctors and quake shops, this fake clinic which is allegedly owned by self styled medico namely Pawan Kumar also got a companion in Qasim Nagar, New Bahu Fort Colony in Jammu City which runs an unregistered laboratory where tests are being done which reportedly referred by the former.
The area where these shady health diagnosis shops are operating is mostly inhabitated by poor people and to hoodwink these gullible citizens, the quack doctor has prefix Dr on his name plate engraved on door of the house owned by said quack.
“Locals on condition of anonymity revealed that everyone in the locality believes Pawan as doctor and frequently visited his clinic in case of any health ailments.
Another person preferring anonymity said “There are several incidents in the area where couple of people developed complications after being injected with medicine in this clinic. We strongly believed that this fake doctor is squarely responsible for these deaths”.
The name and style itself shows that there is something fishy. Neither it’s a chemist shop nor a clinic. “ The age of the guy no way qualify him to be a RMP (Registered Medical Practitioner) and if he possess a license to sell medicines then why he choose to brand his shop as Public ‘Health Medicos’ instead of chemist shop.
Flourishing of such fake doctors and unregistered Laboratory which are playing with lives of poor citizens questions the functioning of Drugs and Food Control Organization as well as Directorate of Health Services as right under their nose these Jhola mark doctors are making mockery of these government institutions and too with impunity.
