NEW DELHI: Former Governor of erstwhile J&K state Jagmohan Malhotra passed away in Delhi after brief illness.
Known for bold decisions and reforms in J&K during his two time stint as Governor from 1984 to 1989 and Jan 19 to 26 May,1990 when the state was in tight grip of insurgents Jagmohan Malhotra known by the mononym Jagmohan, was a former Indian civil servant and politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Prior to his appointment as 5th Governor of J&K he served as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Goa. He was also elected to the Lok Sabha and served as the Union Minister for Urban Development and Tourism.
On his experience as J&K Governor, he also wrote a famous book ‘My Frozen Turbulence in Kashmir’ which sells like a hot cake.
