Jammu: Inspector Kali Charan, SHO Nowabad Police Station in a swift action arrested four accused for circulating fake currency notes within 24 hours of the complaint.
The team led by Inspector Kali Charan with the help of CCTV footage, technical assistance and leads succeed in arresting gang of four accuseds involves in production and circulation of fake currency notes.
The arrests were made on the complaint of one panshop owner from where the two among four accuseds were fled away when the former questioned the authenticity of Rs 500 currency note handed over to him for buying a cigarette packet.
Inspr. Kali Charan with the help of various leads, CCTV footages and other technical aids exposed a gang involved in production and circulation of fake currency.
The arrested accuseds have been identified as Sachin Kumar S/o Ashok Kumar R/o Sari Rakwalan Ghomanhasan and Rohit Sharma S/o Kuldeep Raj R/o Talab Tillo and booked in case FIR No. 63/2021 u/s 489B IPC.
During sustained questioning the duo accused disclosed the names of two other persons involved namely Vipin Pandita S/o Late Bansi Lal Pandita R/o Om Nagar Udhaywala near Elite Public school A/p Huzari Bagh Jammu and Rajesh Ganjoo owner of zodiac studio at Anand Nagar. Police have arrested the two accused and on their disclosure fake currency notes amounting Rs.12000, Scales, Coloured Tapes, Sheets, Computer, scissors, Printer and Water Mark stamps were recovered from their home and shops at Anandnagar Bohri Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention that the design was made in the laptop of the main accused person namely Vipin Pandita and printouts of notes were made at Zodiac studio. Also, Vipan Pandita was working on installing specialized printers to print counterfeit Indian currency on large scale.
