JAMMU: Reacting to the news items published by JK Global News as part of its campaign against mushroomed growth of illegal restaurants on state land and alarming drug addiction around these dens of indecency, the district administration today sealed all the restaurants which housed Hooka Bars on Ragoora Mahamaya Road with immediate effect.
Highly placed sources disclosed that District Magistrate, Jammu Sushma Chauhan has initiated action after evaluating reports and feedback of agencies besides media reports.
Nearly 29 restaurants, Dhabas and Hooka bars were sealed in the presence of officers of DC office Jammu, sources revealed.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation, Commissioner Avny Lavasa had also issued notices to all these restaurants few days ago which were constructed along the National Highway 1A on Ragoora Mahamaya Road stretch in violation of BOCA norms.
Pertinent to mentioned here that JKGN through its series of news item and editorials has highlighted the alarming situation prevailing along this road stretch of NH 1A where the teenagers were openly indulging in drugs and narcotic addiction with impunity.
In the same breath, the JKGN has also questioned the opening of one after another restaurants on thisĀ road stretch in utter violations of JMC as well as NHAI norms.
The citizens of the Jammu has welcomed the much awaited action of District administration as well as JMC and impressed upon the authorities to keep check on opening of illegal restaurants which endanger lives of motorists on the National Highway.
