JAMMU: The cops of Jhajjar Kotli police station led by SHO Inspector Vikaram Sharma has seized a truck with fake number plate while on its on way from Srinagar to Jammu.
As per reports, the cops stopped one truck bearing registration number JK02CC-7322 which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu for checking.
During frisking of the truck, the police team led by SHO found another number plate alongwith registration certificate which was concealed inside the tool box.
On being doubtful over recovery of registration certificate and number plate of another vehicle, the driver of the truck and cleaner were subjected to intense questioning during which they broke down and revealed that original number of the truck is HP97A/8757 instead of JK02CC/7322. The duo using this registration number for gaining wrongful profit by ferrying goods from Jammu and Srinagar.
Further during questioning, its came to fore that Today the vehicle was coming from Srinagar after unloading beverages to Babar Enterprises Srinagar(Kashmir) which was loaded from Bari Brahamana by making a bilty Challan on the forged registration number JK02CC/7322.
In this regard Case FIR no.137/2022 U/S 420/468/471/120-B IPC stands registered in this P/S.Both persons namely Shahzad Ahmed S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O Chattara District Doda and Shafqat Hussain S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O Bonjawa District Kishtwar arrested on spot and vehicle seized and investigation is taken up.
