The stony silence of Mayor Rajinder Sharma who was also apprised of this alleged corrupt practice of illegal promotion of 10 SKCs shows that everything about fighting menace of corruption is a hollow talk to befool the masses.
JAMMU : Mocking at tall claims of Mayor about eradicating corruption culture from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), the illegal elevation of 10 Safai Karamcharris (SKCs) as Supervisors by Health and sanitation wing has raised huge question mark on the administrative fiasco prevailing in the corridors of JMC.
From our reliable sources, the JK Global News received inputs about adjustment of 10 SKCs as supervisors allegedly by charging Rs 2 lakhs from each.
This gratification amount was collected by one employee of JMC who claims himself as self styled union leader on behalf of senior officers of health and sanitation wing who swears by maxim “honesty is the best policy”.
To confirm these startling inputs, the JKGN shared the information with Joint Commissioner (Health and Sanitation), Kulbhushan Khajuria on November 15th, who denied issuance of any formal orders pertaining to this corruption mess and assured of necessary action to stem the rot.
Surprisingly, this matter was brought to the notice of JC (H&S), Kulbhushan Khajuria on November 15th but to date nothing has been done towards the corrupt practices thereby sending a strong message that there is no will to work wonders to realise the dreams of LG Mr. Manoj Sinha to make this UT a haven of zero tolerance for corruption.
To further enquire about the matter, Health Officer, JMC- Dr Vinod Sharma while interacting with JKGN said all these 10 SKCs were adjusted as supervisors on the verbal direction of Jt Commissioner (H&S), JMC.
Interestingly, instead of probing this matter of corruption, the JC (H&S) is sitting pretty over the matter and requesting for an audience with the author of this post repeatedly which raises eyebrows of suspicious dealings.
It would not be out of context to say that JKGN has only shared this backdoor adjustment of 10 SKCs as supervisors through alleged under hands means with JC (H&S) as well as HO Dr Vinod but to our utter dismay one self styled Union leader has approached us and while admitting that Rs 2 lakhs from each of 10 darlings of three Sanitation Officers were digested and tried his best to rope in JK Global News by offering share of loot to remain silent on the matter.
Commenting on the clumsy state of affairs in JMC, renowned anti corruption crusader Prof SK Bhalla said “The enforcement wing of JMC is an epitome of corruption by way of misconception but the fact remains that corruption is running rampant in Sanitation as well as Revenue wing of JMC where lakhs exchange hands on daily basis to protect illegalities.”
