    KVIB organizes 3 days exhibition-cum-sale

    Reasi: A 3-day sale cum exhibition of Khadi & Village Industries Products manufactured by the entrepreneur of Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (JKKVIB) was organised at Katra today.

    The exhibition cum sale was inaugurated by Secretary/Chief Executive Officer KVIB, Rashid Ahmed Qadri in presence of Financial Advisor-Ashraf Haqla, Tehsildar Katra-Mohit Raina, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jammu-Pawan Gupta, Board members including Usha Rani Slathia, Parveen Khan, district officers and other functionaries also participated in the exhibition.

    While speaking on the occasion, CEO KVIB informed that these events are being organized to make genuine Khadi and Village Industries product available to buyers He said that similar programmes would be organized in future also.

    “We always wanted to provide an opportunity to the entrepreneurs of the local area to showcase their products at single platform and today’s exhibition is testimony to our achievement,” said Secretary, adding that PMEGP among other schemes is very popular in J&k.

    He also emphasized upon the people to avail benefits under KVIB to further generate more employment in the area.

    Earlier, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jammu, Mr Gupta elaborated in detail the aim for organizing the exhibition. He informed that this exhibition is organized to showcase Village Industry products, besides providing knowhow to domestic as well as foreign tourists visiting Katra about the heritage craft and craftsmanship of the state, especially Jammu.

    On the occasion at least 17 stalls of different items were set up by the Khadi Village & Industries Board, which included pickle, readymade garments, shoes, honey, cotton, carry bags, photo frame, soya products, masala, pashmina shawls, food-based products and track suit items etc. besides institution of Gandhi Sewa Sadhan Jammu and Animal Feed and Medicine by Equine Health and welfare project also participated in the exhibition.

    Large number of visitors thronged the exhibition cum sale and appreciated the village products.
