“Bureaucrats have to come out of cozy offices for better understanding of people sufferings and deliver on grounds”, MP, Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali.

BARAMULLA: Expressing annoyance over the undesired way of working of some civil officers in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Territory, Gulam Ali Khatana, MP Rajya Sabha and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader on Saturday pulls the bureaucracy and asked them to come out of cozy offices to solve problems being faced by the citizens.

For better assessment of the people sufferings the officers in administration have to regularly interact with people on ground and serve the last man in the row, avers Khatana while addressing a huge Schedule Tribe convention at Katnawali Gohan in district Baramulla.  There are some bureaucrats in administration who are still living in the pre-2019 and are still serving the interests of their old masters in NC, Cong, PDP and enjoying leisure time in  cozy offices ignoring sufferings of public, he said. In a stern message to indifferent officers, Khatana loudly said that this is Modi era of accountability, transparency and delivery and such bureaucrats should shun loyalty to their old masters whose era has ended and now work on the ground for welfare of the common masses.

Elaborating on the path breaking initiatives of PM Narendra Modi led government, Khatana said that now the era of central government sending Rs. 100 and only Rs. 10 reaching on ground has ended. PRIs directly receive the grants and is utilized for the developmental schemes. The Ayushman Bharat scheme has provided access to the common man for best medical treatment upto Rs. 5 lakh, the railway project from Jammu to Kashmir is nearing completion, tourists footfall has touched 1.70 crores in the UT, besides various other developmental schemes have been extended to the J&K.

Appreciating the LG administration led by Manoj Sinha, he said that anti-encroachment drive against the rich and powerful has sent a chill down the spines of rich and powerful, who looted the erstwhile state for last seven decades. He said that LG Manoj Sinha time and again assured the public that poor and marginalized sections won’t be touched and rich and influential won’t be spared. MP Khatana said that FRA act has been fully implemented in the UT and he would request the LG administration to appoint a dedicated official at district, SDM, Tehsil level to rece4ive and process the cases under FRA Act.
