SRINAGAR: Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal, Athar Khan has placed under suspension the Secretary of SMC-Sofi Akbar following arrest by police for his role in intimidating journalists, social activists and government officers on Kashmirfight blog.
Sofi along with his two children and two other persons were arrested by police on Saturday and recovered large number electronic gadgets, sims card, mobile phones and hard disk used by the accuseds.
As per reports, five persons has been arrested which include SMC Secretary Sofi Muhammad Akbar, his two children Nazish Yasrab Rehmani and Tabish Akbar Rehmani from Sanatnagar and Rajbagh, Peerzada Raqif Makhdoomi from Batpora, Hazratbal and Javed Khalid from Poonch.
