Srinagar: At least thirty pellet injuries were reported in SMHS Srinagar, following the clashes between protesters and government forces at Nowhatta after the congregational Friday prayers culminated in Jamia Masjid Srinagar.

Reports said that protesters raised slogans after the prayers at Nowhatta Chowk and pelted government forces with stones. Forces retaliated by firing tear gas smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesters, triggering further clashes. An official from SMHS hospital said that they have received thirty youth with pellet injuries.
