Jammu: Even under Governor administration officers are paying the the price for being upright and honest while performing their official duty.
Dr Koushal Samnotra, a senior most college professor is the lastest casualty for her refusal to succumb to ‘Yes Boss’ culture prevailing in the corridors of power in the state.
As per order No 354 -HE of 2019 dated 3/07/2019 issued by Talat Parvez Rohella -Secretary Higher Education Department, Dr Samnotra Principal GCW Gandhinagar was transferred and posted as Principal GDC Kathua.
The casual approach of HED in this order is evident from the fact that Dr Samnotra was substituted with Prof Mini Sharma who was appointed as incharge Principal on adhoc basis to head one of the prestigious college of Jammu region.
Sources, in the college revealed that there remains a tradition in some of the prominent government colleges located in Jammu city to swindled lakhs of college funds showcasing dubious developments and useless activities.
However, Dr Samnotra is an upright Principal who always refrain from such corrupt practices which may be the reason behind midnight descision of her transfer, added sources.
Ironically, this all happening right under the nose of Governor administration, added sources.
The order speaks volume about the mess prevailing in HED at higher level, said an employee of the GCW Gandhinagar preferring anonymity.
The order is vindictive is nature and proves that there is no worth of honest and dedicated officers in the system else what’s the exigency behind transferring Dr Samnotra to other district when she is close to attain her retirement with in few months, said another college teacher.
Since 2009 Dr Samnotra has been serving as Principal and mostly remained posted in far flung colleges.
Before being posted as Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar in 2018, she served as Principal in GDC Kiloutran, GDC Akhnoor, GDC Reasi and GCE Canal Road.
There is a lobby behind this transfer else what’s remained the reason to transfer an experienced and senior most Principal with impeccable integrity in a hush hush manner, rued another employee of college.
The governor should ordered probe behind this unhealthy transfer to promote transparency in higher education department.
