JAMMU: Flying high under consumption of liquor and ecstasy substances, the influential boozers threatened SHO Gandhi Nagar as well as Duty Magistrate of dire consequences for daring to busted their rave party inside a Hookah Cafe in posh area of Gandhi Nagar.
The rave party on Sunday night was at it’s zenith when acting on a reliable input, the police party led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Police station, Inspector Bharat Sharma along with First Class Magistrate, Bahu Zone Rohit Sharma raided a Hookah bar namely ‘Vedas Cafe’.
Eleven participants besides two organisers namely Vikas Suri and a girl namely Faguni were arrested, said Police sources. The police also seized 13 vehicles which belonged to the arrested accuseds, added sources. The Hookah Cafe is owned by Vikas Suri and a girl namely Faguni is a partner in bussiness, reveals police sources.
Eyewitness from the locality reveals” Its shocking to see that some among the rave party were threatening the Police officer in uniform besides the Duty Magistrate”. No ordinary person can dare to organise a rave party inside a hookah bar amid lockdown and top of it goes to the extent of threatening a police and civil officer with transfer for busting their rave party in corona lockdown, he added.
This hookah Cafe is a nuisance in the locality. Top of it, the owner have foolishly puts lives of the residents of locality by organising rave party amid sharp surge in Covid infections in city in utter violation of District Magistrate orders, said a person of locality, who didn’t wish to be named. This is a serious offence and the police and District administration must take strict action against the owner of Vedas Hookah Cafe and the participants, added another resident of the same locality.
The arrested accuseds belongs to influential families and desperate attempts are being made to hush up the matter. But, the police is in no mood to buckle under the pressure- Police Sources.
Those arrested from inside Vedas Hookah Bar includes Vikas Suri (owner), Faguni (Partner), Parmeet Singh, Arghun Sethi, Jaspreet Singh, Uppal Singh, Parminder Singh, Akshyadeep Singh, Sarbjeet Singh, Rajat Kumar, Abhisheik Kumar, Sahil Kumar and Akal Preet Singh.
Police has sealed Vedas Hookah cafe and all the arrested accuseds were booked in FIR No 155 for endangering public safety, violation of lockdown norms and obstructing/ threatening public servants from discharging official duty, sources in Gandhi Nagar Police Station said.
