    Vikas Kundal reviews functioning of Revenue Department in Kargil

    Kargil: Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting of officers to review the functioning of Revenue Department in the district.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner ImteeazKacho, SDM Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, SDM ShakarChiktan Ghulam Mehdi, SDM Drass Pawan Kotwal besides all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of the district attended the meeting.

    The DC said that effective and efficient functioning of Revenue Department assumes greater significance for timely grievance redressal in the district adding that all out commitment is required to achieve the set administrative targets in the sector.

    The meeting reviewed the progress of writing of Jamabandies, Girdawaries, Attestations of pending mutations, record position of revenue targets, revenue court cases, attestations of mutations of lands and other related issues.

    The DC directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner to submit a roundup of mutations and further directed the concerned officers to conduct special camps to clear the pending cases.       The officers were further directed to listen to public grievances daily for 2 hours during their office hours to ensure delivery of public services and redressal of all grievances in a time bound manner.

    The DC said that to ensure time-saving and swift delivery of services the District Administration is connecting all the SDM offices to the District Headquarters through Video Conferencing system in the first phase adding the Tehsil Offices shall also be provided with the facility followed by the SDM offices.

    Issues like the identification of land for the establishment of Emergency Operation Center at Sankoo besides matters relating to infrastructural and manpower requirements at the SDM, Tehsildar and Niabat offices also came up for discussion.

    Further, the DC asked the concerned to tour their respective areas periodically for redressal of the grievances of the general public with regard to revenue related matters.

    The DC said that fortnightly meetings of Revenue Department shall be held from time to time so as that the Administration remains well posted about the status of the overall functioning of the department besides satisfactory public service delivery is ensured.
