JAMMU: In 25 years of my career as reporter working for different regional as well as national dailies, my approach towards police working always remain very critical but today the duty with devotion exhibited by police post Incharge Panjtirthi forced me to highlight the exceptional good work which hardly the cops in uniform bothered to notice.
For the last one month, a portion of road on circular road near Peer Khou sinks and created a deep gorge which was posing a life threat to the motorists on this ever busy road. Strangely, this road is being used by several VIPs and even the author of this story noticed this fatal deep gorge visible on one side of the road on many occasion but never care to bring into the notice of concerned authorities.
However, the initiative today undertaken by PP Incharge Panjtirthi Sub Inspector Ranjit Singh Chib to fill this deep gorge on road with truck full of concrete and sand deserve full appreciation.
This police officer deserve accolades for addressing to an issue which doesn’t falls in his domain, said Rajinder, a local resident of Peer Khou area.
Repairing of the damage road is the duty of PWD but the way PP Incharge Police Post delivered on this issue won hearts of the public. This is exceptional and appreciable change in pattern of policing, avers Rakesh Bhardwaj, a local resident of the Jhullakha Mohalla.
When contacted, SI Ranjit Singh Chib said “I noticed this fatal deep gorge created on one side of the road. Realising that this may proves fatal for some motorists, I immediately arrange things to fill it immediately. The spot was noticed at about 9 pm and by 9.30 the gorge was filled, he said.
While appreciating, the initiative of SI Ranjit Chib, one evening walker namely Shahid said “If every cops in the Jammu and Kashmir Police start working on this pattern then soon the society will get rid of emerging incidents of crime rise and narcotic use in UT J&K.
