JAMMU: After sleeping over the matter for almost a year, the government has found one KAS officer namely Vivek Modi to head most crucial post of Director Land Management (DLM) in Jammu Development Authority.

Pertinently, JK Global News through series of news items in the month of March has highlighted the indulgence of enforcement staff in corrupt practices by encouraging large scale unauthorized buildings due to prolong delay in posting of DLM which falls vacant after transfer of Puneet Sharma last year.

Not only unauthorized buildings, the delay in posting of DLM for almost one year results in mushrooming of illegal colonies as enjoying absence of DLM, the field staff join hands with developers of colonies and skip its reporting, said an officer of JDA, confiding anonymity.

Now, the Govt should also appoint two Tehsildars of Zone D and Zone B, which are also lying vacant for more than a year, added JDA officer.
