REASI: The stalemate over opening of tehsil and BDO offices at Bhomag refuses to die down as the district administration and representatives of PRI Bhomag have lock horns with each other over identification of central location for the public offices.
As per reports, the meeting held yesterday in the conference hall of DC office remianed inconclusive as the incumbent DDC Reasi refuses to relent the demand of the elected public representatives.
The meeting was attended by all the Sarpanches, Block Development Council Chairperson Bhomag , district administration including Tehsildar and BDO Bhomag.
Since it’s sanction in 2014, these crucial offices of PRIs have been functioning in camp buildings at Reasi Headquarter causing lots of hardships to the villagers who have to travelled several kilometers seeking solution to their day to day problems.
The villagers have to travel miles before boarding vehicles at Lamsora , Sujandhar and Tote for meeting Tehsildar and BDO at Reasi when they were supposed to be present at their headquarters at Bhomag.
The People of Bhomag had already made consensus way back in 2016 for opening of Tehsil and BDO Office at Mohali Talab , a Central Location of all the 8 Panchayats of Bhomag near Bhum and Sujandhar which were upheld by all three previous District Development Commissioners and High Court of J&K.
However, the matter got entangled due to the authoritarian attitude of the incumbent Deputy Commissioner Indu Chib who downgrade the spirit of democratically elected Panchayati Raj Institutions, alleged Sarpanch Tirath Ram.
The decision stands already taken and is well informed to all the stakeholders. We had been putting efforts how to connect Mohali Talab location from Anji Nallhah side and Kothroo Lamsora Sarote side so that the people visiting sanctioned Tehsil and Block Headquarters may not face any hardships, he added.
But DC Reasi merely to favour his blue eyed Tehsildar Bhomag has played spoilsport by declaring Sermeghan as Central location of Bhomag which by no prudence and yard stick a Central location for people of Bhomag, said PRI members.
They alleged that DC Reasi is concerned about living standards , modern facilities, materialistic comforts of her two officers at the cost of the hardships and inconveniences being suffered by the public of Bhomag since ages, asserts Sarpanch Kanya Devi.
The government always claimed to provide governance at the door steps of public but DC Reasi seems to set exactly opposite rhetoric by not sending officers in the field but keeping them in the cosy rooms at Headquarters at the cost of standing PM Modi Government directives, blames BDC Chairman Ashok Thakur.
The DC Reasi pressurised us to sign a resolution for opening of Tehsil and Block Office at a location nearest to Reasi Headquarters merely for the sake of two officers thereby ignoring the larger interest of the villagers, alleged another Sarpanch Rekha Kumari.
Look at the adamant stand of District Magistrate and public of Bhomag, their seems to unfolding of interesting developments in the near guture as the villagers and PRI representatives have vowed to stand united against the dictatorial and undemocratic attitude of incumbent DC Reasi, said sources.
