EDITORIAL: The areas surrounding Bagh e Bahu famous for Kali Mata Temple is in news for prohibited activities. Good, the pot of sins supposed to be broken one day, says sacred Baghavat Gitta. Significantly, though practised by a few notorious elements since long the stink of these unlawful activities have maligned the entire area which generally comprised of hard working and respectful citizens who earned their livelihood through dignified manners. The police and administration have greater responsibility in ensuring an environment of peace to majority of law abiding citizens residing in this area. In the same breath, the Police should welcome the resentment of law abiding citizens against these dens of shame as they are fed up and feeling suffocated owing to the immoral and unlawful activities of handful bad elements who runs dens of shame without fear of law in the vicinity of Bagh e Bahu police station.

Interestingly, these dens are lying around the temple of Kalli Matta where devotee beelines for protection against evils and devils. For all good reasons, the way the media has first time highlighted the prevalence of three brothels, sale of drugs and satta in the area, it seems the Goddess Kali have accepted their prayers. Inspector Kirti Sharma needs no ‘Brahama Astar’ to smashed these centres of shame operating in her jurisdiction without fear of law as the dossiers of Special Branch, History Sheets, network of physical sources and Technical surveillance is the solution to kill the monster of social evils spreading its roots at an alarming rate around Bagh-e Bahu Police station. The daring whistle blower and media deserve appreciation for highlighting the evils which were running rampant in this area.

The police authorities also needs to be extra cautious about the influence of self styled “Samaj Sevaks” on Bagh e Bahu Police Station who in their yesteryears were either cahoots or pimps of some politicians and now protecting wrong doers and their shameful acts by bragging close proximity with the officials of Bagh e Bahu Police station. It’s alarming to hear when one officer of Special Branch reveals that situation was once so deplorable in Bagh e Bahu police station that one notorious Swarna used to sit inside the SHO room with legs on his table. Inspector Vijay Choudhary not only ends this abominable practice in the Bagh e Bahu police station but also teach lesson to one notorious brothel runner by sending her to six months in jail. There are reports that girls from valley and Amritsar used as commodity for prostitution by one woman who is a notorious and have spoiled the reputation of the locality.

There is no room for wrong doers and their sympathisers in society. Those opposing the daring voice which stands tall to speak against the prevailing mess around Bagh e Bahu Police station jurisdiction are not only exposing themselves but are testifying that they are beneficiary of the illicit trades practiced by identified men and women who adorn as History Sheeter in various police stations of Jammu Division. Showcase of stage managed protests by notorious elements who are hell bent to destroy the society must be dismissed with warning. Wrong doers can never be turned Meesiha with crowds behind them. Wrong always remains a wrong and its mind blowing to see how these drug peddlers, flesh and saatah traders were operating conveniently under the nose of vast network of police and security agencies in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Bagh e Bahu Police Station. The DGP Mr Dilabgh Singh must ordered a probe and fix the responsibility on erring cops.

The Police authorities and the District administration need to strengthen its security grid in the areas doing round in the social media and news channels. No one is above law. In newly carved J&K UT, the police has got freedom from political interference and must used this golden opportunity to end evils once for all as a mark of respect to Maa Kali of Bagh e Bahu Temple.
