ANANTNAG: The level of corruption prevailing in construction of Government Degree College buildings once again came to fore the crumbling of auditorium in just 5 years of its construction.
The crumbling of auditorium in Government Degree College (Boys), Anantnag has created commotion in official echelons as it was constructed at whooping cost of Rs 7 crores.
Faces of many officials will indeed be paint in black with the dust which has emanated with the collapse of college auditorium, said college sources.
“It is shocking to see that barely five years after it was made operational, the college auditorium collapsed” added another college professor.
Equipments and assets worth 1 crore were also damaged in the auditorium ” revealed college authorities.
The project was completed in the year 2012 at the cost of Rs 7 crore but the said auditorium was however made operational only in December 2015.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Kuldeep Krishan Sidha visited the spot and ordered enquiry to ascertain the facts behind collapse of auditorium so as to fix the responsibility.
