JAMMU: Finally, with the timely intervention of Commissioner Secretary Forest, Sarita Chouhan the deadly tree which was endangering lives of citizens on roadside at Karan Nagar-Amphalla road was razed to ground.

The officials of Urban Forest Division reached the spot and entire exercise took nearly an hour for removal of the tree which turned dead and leaned towards the busy road.

Pertinently, JKGN has carried a campaign highlighting imminent danger which was looming over pedestrians and motorists due to one large tree which virtually leaned towards the busy road of old city near Amphalla.

The operation was executed with the active cooperation of Traffic Police Jammu which has diverted the vehicular movement for hurdle free cutting of the tree.

The citizens of city especially Karan Nagar and Ustad Mohalla have appreciated the prompt action of Commissioner Secretary, Forest Sarita Chouhan in removal of this tree which the officials of State Forest Corporation couldn’t removed except tossing their mandated responsibility almost a month ago.

The residents also expressed their gratitude towards the cooperation extended by SSP Traffic Shiv Kumar Sharma and DSP Traffic Jammu City Shivali Kotwal without whom it was appearing impossible to remove this huge tree from the road side.
