Ludhiana: Lok Insaaf Party leader and local MLA Simarjit Singh Bains was booked today for allegedly trespassing into the Ludhiana passport office with his armed supporters, a police official said.

A case was registered on a complaint of Yash Pal, the assistant passport officer Ludhiana, said Sukhchain Singh Gill, the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana.

Pal has accused the MLA of “trespassing the secured zone of passport office, bringing arms inside, misbehaving with security guard, scaring away applicants and disrupting work”.

He has been booked under various sections of the IPC. In his complaint, Pal claimed that Bains forcefully entered the Passport Sewa Kendra, Ludhiana with his armed supporters on Monday.

The passport officer alleged that Bains and his supporters started recording videos following which applicants got scared and left the office.

No arrest has been made so far, the police official said.
