Sama attributes her success to jailed father

Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has congratulated Sama Shabir for coming off with flying colors in CBSE examination. Sama, who is a daughter of senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, has secured 97.8 percent marks in the 12th class examination . Shah is currently lodged in Tihar jail.

Mehbooba tweets “Congratulations to Sama Shabir Shah for securing 97.8% marks in the class 12th class examination. Her hard work & determination has helped her overcome all odds & she is truly an inspiration for the youth of our state”.

Sama Shabir, the daughter of incarcerated pro-freedom leader Shabir Ahmed Shah who topped CBSE-2018 results in Jammu and Kashmir has attributed her success to father who according to her is a force to reckon with and a person that has the ability to endure hardships without complaining.

Looking at my father and his struggle for survival at infamous cells of Tihar Jail, I always thought, if he could face such a grim situation, why can’t I pass a simple examination. If I have come off with flying colors today, it is just because of my belief in father’s struggle and the strength that my mother provided to me,” Sama Shabir Shah told mediapersons.

Sama who is the student of Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar has secured 97.8 percent marks in the 12th class examination.

“My parents have always been a constant source of inspiration for me. Despite disturbing atmosphere at my home, I never gave stress and anxiety any space in my life and during my studies my only focus was to make my incarcerated father proud. Alhamdulillah, I did it.”
