JAMMU: Fed up with the hefty charges and unsatisfactory service at the hands of the lawyers, here is ‘Apka Legal Dost’ which offers you best legal advice that too free of cost.

This unique initiative is the brain child of a group of National Law University students hailing from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir who have joined hands to render prompt and free legal guidance to the needy who are seeking resolution to their problems without paying hefty amounts.

For prompt and hassle free flow of information, the students took to popular social media platform -Facebook and Instagram for connecting with those seeking advice on various legal issues .

The Founding members behind this novel initiative are Sanjana,Vansh Sharma, Mridull, Arushi, Pranav Garg and Sehaj Kohli.

Interacting with JKGN, Vansh Sharma who is pursuing degree course in Law at NLU, Haryana said that the aim behind this move is to help the vulnerable section of society who are always victims of injustice as most of them fears to knock the door of justice due to costly solicitor consultation fees structure.

He further said that the Constitution of India provides equality to all the citizens which include free legal advice too.

However, the current scenario in the country is different for have nots for whom soliciting legal aid is like a faraway dream, avers Mridull.

For these gullible citizens of India judicial service is such a costly affair which only an affluent can afford, added Sanjana.

Further elaborating the initiative of launching ‘Apka Legal Dost’ Vansh said “The lawyers charge hefty fees for providing legal help to the people and the main motive of Apka Legal Dost is to provide free legal advice to the people who do not have enough resources available with them”
