    Qaiser Lone reviews functioning of HUDD in DRSC meet

    Srinagar: The meeting of Department Related Standing Committee (DRSC-I) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone to review the functioning of Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD).

    The Committee discussed the overall functioning of Housing and Urban Development Department including Urban Local Bodies, UEED, J&K Housing Board, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, SDA, Town Planning Organization, Kashmir, Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LDA) and other allied wing of the H&UD department.

    Legislators, Aga Syed Mahmood-Ul-Mosavi, Mohammad Khursheed Alam and G L Raina attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions to make the H&UD department more vibrant and result oriented.

    Financial Commissioner, H&UDD, K B Agarwal briefed the Committee about measures for improving the functioning of the department. He also presented a brief about the physical and financial achievements in different sectors of the department.

    The Committee also discussed the proper implementation of various schemes including Capital City Dev Programme (CCDP), Integrated Dev of Medium Towns (IDMT), Special Infrastructure Dev of District HQ/Major Towns (SIDMT), preparation of Master Plans, Development of Model Town Charar-i-Sharief, on-going projects of Dal Development, Sewerage and Drainage system, Smart City Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission.

    The Committee directed the concerned authorities of H&UDD to take necessary steps to expedite the process on all ongoing projects of the department for their early completion.

    Managing Director, JK Housing Board, Dr Manmohan Singh, Vice Chairman, LAWDA, Dr A Hafeez Shah, VC SDA, Abdul Majid Raina, Director ULB, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi, CTPK, Fayaz Khan, CE JKUEED, Er Mohammad Hanief Lone, besides Special Secretary, Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani and other senior officers of H&UDD and Council Secretariat were present in the meeting.
