Two Inter state drug peddlers arrested

JAMMU: Continuing it’s relentless strike against the menace of drug, the police party of police station Trikuta Nagar has recovered 50 gms of Heroin from the possession of two inter state drug peddlers.
As per the Police statement, today the police party led by SHO P/S Trikuta Nagar Inspr Deepak Pathania alongwith SI Charanjeet Singh has laid Naka near JK Resorts, Railway Station road.
During checking two suspects namely Vinod Singh S/O Mahinder Singh R/O Vill. Mulechak, Bhai Veer Singh Colony, Amritsar and Tarsem Rani W/O Mahinder Singh R/O Vill. Mulechak, Bhai Veer Singh Colony, Amritsar traveling in a Etios car bearing Registration no. PB02CC/ 2199 were signalled to stop. On search 50 gms of heroin was recovered from them.
Consequently, the accuseds were taken into custody and booked in FIR No. 65/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act.
It’s worth to mentioned here that for the past several days, the Jammu police under the supervision of SSP Shridhar Patil and SP South Deepak Digra besides SDPO City East Bikram Kumar has tightened it’s noose against the drug peddlers and succesfully recovered large quantity of narcotic substance.
Further, the Jammu Police have implore citizens especially youth to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption of narcotics on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the larger interest of the society. For this, the identity of the information providers will be kept confidential with due care.
